As a clinical psychologist abd supervisor of clinicians for 24 years, having worked primarily with PTSD and treatment resistant trauma as well as a researcher trained in working with people in the states of consciousness that these substances can elicit- it is essential that we make these substances available for people suffering from trauma, PTSD and addiction. These treatments will offer hope and healing for people whose suffering is profound and resistant to existing treatment methods and whose suicide rates are alarming. Making these new therapies available is a humane, evidenced based, and compassionate decision.
