Overview

Interim decision on proposed amendments to the Poisons Standard in relation to pyridoxine, pyridoxal or pyridoxamine (vitamin B6) 

This consultation is for an interim decision made in relation to pyridoxine, pyridoxal or pyridoxamine (vitamin B6) discussed at the NOVEMBER 2024 meeting of the Advisory Committee on Medicines Scheduling (ACMS).

The closing date for this consultation is close of business 27 July 2025. All submissions (including comments and votes) received by the deadline will be considered by the delegate before making a final decision.

Background

A consultation on the proposal to amend the current scheduling of pyridoxine, pyridoxal or pyridoxamine (vitamin B6) was undertaken during 23 September 2024 to 22 October 2024. The proposal is detailed in the Pre-meeting public notice of November 2024. 

Total 17 responses were received of which 15 were in opposition, 1 in partial support and 1 in full support of the proposed amendments. All the submissions were  considered by the Delegate prior to making an interim decision on the proposal.

What happens next
